Onion Rolls

Last night I decided to make onions rolls. They were pretty easy to make and they were pretty good!

1) Fry about 3 onions with a bit of olive oil and 2 tbsps of sugar.
2) Mix 2 0.25 ounce packs of active dry yeast with 2 cups of warm water and wait for it to foam a little.
3) Mix 2 eggs, 4 tbsp of butter , 1/4 cup of sugar, 6 cups all purpose flour (I actually ran out of all purpose so I did about 4 cups all purpose and 2 bread flour and it was fine!) and a bit of salt to the yeast mixture.
4) add 3/4 of the fried onions
5) Mix dough it should be a little sticky
6) cover and let it rise for about an hour

7) Punch the dough down when it is down rising
8) Form the dough into balls. The real recipe said to make then on a cookie sheet and then they are like pull apart balls but I just shaped them as individual rolls on a cookie sheet.
9) Put some of the left over onions on top of the rolls and cover and let them rise again for about a half hour
10) Put some egg on the top of the rolls before putting them in the oven and you can also put some poppy seeds on top if you like!

Bake at 400 for about 15/20 minutes!!
