So this was suppose to be in a round pan with crumbs on top. I made it in a bunt pan so in the end it was an upside down coffee cake with the crumbs on the bottom.
Recipe:
Cake batter:
1 stick butter
2 cups all purpose flour
1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1 cup sour cream (I substituted this with 3/4 cup milk and 3 tabs butter)
Mix all together and pour half in the pan ( 9 inch tube pan)
Middle:
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/3 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup pecans (optional)
Mix together and pour on top of the batter in the pan
Pour the other half of the batter on top of the middle mixture.
Top crumbs:
1 1/2 sticks butter
1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
3/4 cups brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup pecans (optional)
Put the crumbs on top of the cake and bake at 350 for about 40 minutes (the original recipe said longer but I found 40 minutes was perfect)
Glaze:
1 cup confectioners' sugar
2 Tablespoons milk
Mix together and drizzle on cake
