Dough:
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup oatmeal
3/4 cup margarine
1 tsp baking soda
3/4 cup brown sugar
Mix together and spread 3/4 of the mixture in 9x13 pan (I used all of it and made more for the top)
Caramel Sauce:
Option 1 (this is what the original recipe said)
32 caramel cubes
3 tbsp butter
3 tbsp whipping cream
melt of together and spread on top of the dough in the pan.
Option 2 (this is what I did but if I made again I would use option 3):
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 stick margarine
melt together and spread on top of the dough in the pan.
Option 3 (an awesome homemade caramel sauce I found today and will always use for all my recipes from now on)
Spread on top of dough in pan
Next sprinkle a layer of chocolate chips and nuts (if you would like).
Topping:
Use the 1/4 remaining dough and sprinkle on top (I made another dough and put on top, Next time I would make 1/2 the dough recipe from the top since I would still use a whole recipe on the bottom)
Bake at 325 for 15 minutes.
If you would like you can drizzle caramel sauce, chocolate or both on top (I did both!)
