Cinnamon Twists






Recipe:

Dough:

2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water
1/2 cup warm milk
1 tbsp sugar + 1 cup sugar divided
2 cups flour 
4 tbsp margarine - room temperature 

Topping:
1/2 cup sugar
4 tbsp cinnamon 


Preheat oven to 400 
Mix together the milk, water,1 tbsp sugar and yeast. Proof the yeast for 5 minutes. 
Next mix in all the other ingredients. Knead the dough. 
Cover dough with a towel and allow it to rise for an hour. 





When dough is done rising divide in half. Roll each half into 2 rectangles about the same size. Spread melted margarine onto one rectangle. Then on the same rectangle sprinkle the mixture of cinnamon and sugar. Place the second rectangle on top of the cinnamon and sugar.  Cut strips out of the rectangle. Spread some margarine on top of each strip. Take each strip and twist it a few times and then place on baking sheet. Sprinkle some more cinnamon and sugar on the cinnamon twist and then place in oven. Bake for 10 minutes
