Cinnamon Buns

Recipe:

Cinnamon Buns:

1 quart of whole milk (I replaced with half water and half heavy whipping cream)
1 cup margarine
1 cup sugar
2 packages active dry yeast - 0.25 ounce packets
8 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda

Preheat oven to 400

Mix milk, margarine, and sugar pan or pot. Bring almost to a boil but do not boil or the milk with curdle. Remove and allow it to cool until warm - you must let it cool or you will kill the yeast and it will not rise. When mixture if cool add the yeast.

Add all the other ingredients and mix. Cover with a towel and allow the dough to rise for about an hour, On a floured surface , knead 1 more cup of flour into the dough.

Cinnamon mixture:
Brown sugar
cinnamon

Divide dough in half. Roll one half into a rectangle. cover lightly with melted margarine. Sprinkle with a lot of cinnamon and then a lot and then a lot of brown sugar. Roll the dough up and pinch the end together. If it wont stay closed use water to seal the dough together. Use the sharpest knife you own and cut the cinnamon roll into thick slices. If the knife is sticking spray it with pam and then cut. Place the slices in a greased pan - it is okay if they touch each other. Let them rise for about 20 minutes. After they are done rising place in the oven for 15 minutes.

I thought my cinnamon buns weren't cinnamony enough so I made a cinnamon glaze to put on under the icing. I melted some brown sugar, margarine and cinnamon in a pot until the brown sugar was melted. Then I poured over the cinnamon buns. After that I made the icing!

Icing:

1 bag powdered sugar
2 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup melted margarine

Mix together and pour on top of the cinnamon buns!
