Parshas Toldos - Red velvet cake balls

This weeks parsha is parshas toldos. In toldos Yaakov and Esav are born. Esav is born first and it is said that he was red. So I made red velvet for toldos. I made it a whole red velvet shabbas and made multiple different red velvet desserts!

These are so easy to make! All you need is a red velvet cake mix, the ingredients for the cake mix. confectioners sugar, cocoa some chocolate chips or chocolate baking bar.

Prepare the cake mix according to its directions and following the baking directions as well.
When cake is done allow it to cool entirely. When cooled crumble cake in a bowl. Use your hands and smoosh it so there are no big pieces.

Prepare the icing. Mix together 1 cup of confectioners sugar and 1 cup of cocoa powder. Add water little by little about a tbsp at a time until the icing is thin enough that it drips when you lift your spoon up but no thinner. Pour the icing into your cake mix. Depending how big the cake mix is you may not need all the icing or you may need more. Add half the icing and then see if you need more. The cake and icing mixture should be able to keep the shape of a ball. When it can keep the shape of a ball it has enough icing!

Form all the cake into balls. Freeze for about an hour or until the cake balls are frozen.

When the cake balls are frozen, melt your chocolate on the stove or in the microwave until it is all melted. If it is too thick you can add some melted margarine into the chocolate. Dip all the balls into the chocolate and cover completely. Place the chocolate balls onto a cookie sheet and freeze again. If you would like you can drizzle extra chocolate on top to make them pretty.

These can be kept on the counted. If you find your house is hot and they are melting keep them in the refrigerator.
