This weeks parsha is parshas toldos. In toldos Yaakov and Esav are born. Esav is born first and it is said that he was red. So I made red velvet for toldos. I made it a whole red velvet shabbas and made multiple different red velvet desserts!
The first dessert is a red velvet cookies and cream bar.
Recipe:
1 1/4 cup flour
3 tbsp cocoa powder
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup margarine
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
Red food coloring
oreos
chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350. Mix everything together except for the oreos and chocolate chips. Put in as much food coloring as you want until the color is to your liking
Grease a 9x9 square pan and pour half of the batter in the pan. Smooth out the batter and then put whole oreo cookies on top so that the oreos cookies cover the entire surface. Then pour the rest of the batter on top to cover the cookies.
Bake for a half hour or until a tooth pick comes out clean.
Pour chocolate chips on top of cake and put it back in the oven for about 3-5 minutes or until the chocolate is melted. As soon as you take the cake out spread the chocolate chips so they cover the entire cake like an icing. Crumble some leftover oreos and sprinkle them on top. If you would like you can melt some more chocolate and drizzle on top of the oreos to make it look pretty.
