Parshas Shemos - Snake Cookies

In Parshas Shemos Hashem gives Moshe signs one of which is that Moshe's stick turned into a snake!

Recipe:
3 cups flour
1 cup sugar
2/3 cup powdered sugar
1 and 1/4 cup softened margarine
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
green food coloring
green sprinkles
mini choc. chips for the eyes
fruit roll up for the tongue

Mix all ingredients together except for the sprinkles.

Chill dough for an hour
Preheat oven to 375.
Break dough into small balls and roll into logs. Roll the top of the logs into green sprinkles. If the sprinkle dont stick you can rub dough with a bit of water or egg before rolling in sprinkles. Shape Logs in an "S" shape on cookie sheet.
Bake for 7-10 minutes.

When cookies for cooled you can make eyes and tongues. I made a glaze with confectioners sugar and water and put 2 small dots on the snakes and then put 2 mini chocolate chips on the glaze for the eyes.

For the mouth you will need a fruit roll up. Cut the fruit roll up into small rectangles depending on how big your cookies are so they look proportionate to your cookies. Next cut out a small triangle from one side of the rectangle. Dip the side which you did not cut into your glaze and attach it to the bottom of the snake!
