In Parshas Beshaloch Bnei Yisroel leave Egypt and Hashem splits the Yom Suf for them. I make Chocolate cupcakes that show the splitting of the Yom Suf and Bnei Yisroel walking through.
As a lot of my parsha desserts this can also be made using a cake mix or brownie mix. Or you can even make this on a cookie!
Make the cake mix according to directions. Bake in cupcake holders according to box directions.
Allow cupcakes to cool while you whip up some whipped cream. I used rich's whip and whip it up until it form nice peaks that stay. Add a drop or 2 of blue food coloring to just give it a slight blue tint. Using the back of a spoon put the whipping cream on both sides of the cupcake in swishing motions to create a little wave like effect.
When you have your split yom suf you can make some people. I happened to have had these adorable gingerbread men sprinkles I used but you can also just put drops of colored whipped cream to represent people.
